LSS Buttons and Bows Easter Card

Hello peeps, sorry I missed last weeks LSS post but I wasn't about to post on my blog. Anyhoo I'm back and have a really cute fella to share with you. Above is Lindsay's new Cute Easter set, it's just adorable.
I have coloured this cheeky chappy in with watercolour pencils and then scuffed the edges of my image with Tim Holtz ink. Lindsay has asked the DT team to use Buttons and Bows for our inpiration this week, so this is my interpretation!! Also my first easter card of the year!!
My usual spot for photographing is out of bounds again, as the rain has set in. So the hallway would have to do....although the light is not too bad today. Just to let you know Lindsay has quite a few new set's in her store at the moment so why not pop on over for a lookie....Take care Nettie.x

Polkadoodles Sketch with The Birds

This week at Polkadoodles Kris has asked everybody to follow her sketch above and to include BIRDS on your card. I really enjoyed this one and I couldn't resist using the oh so cute Owl's on the Back to Nature CD. Nikky has designed this set of Owl's a a decoupage set, so all you have to do is print them out and layer them up!!
See, how can you resist those dopey eyes........all of the leaves, flowers and sentiment are from the back to nature CD. This is still my favourite by far.
So if you fancy taking part in the sketch then pop along to the Polkadoodles challenge site. Nikky is almost ready to release the new CD and will be show casing this on Create and Craft TV shortly. Can't wait to read your blogs. Take care Nettie.x

Polkadoodles Hearts & Flowers

This week at Polkadoodles it's Dolly's turn and we are having a hearts and flowers week. For my make this week it's a Wedding Invitation, I used the Love & Cherish CD for this one.
I have used the Boundless Love collection to make this Invitation. I have made this invite in the style of a wallet, which is very similar to my own Wedding Invitation. Because we had lots of extra information for our guests and maps, we wanted some kind of pocket, eh voila the wallet. For the decorative edging I have used a Martha Stewart punch.
Thank you ladies for your lovely comments, your all so sweet!!! There were some fab makes for last weeks challenge and I can't wait to see all of your hearts and flowers this week. Take care Nettie.x

My latest creation

Hello followers, I hope you are keeping warm from the snow if you have it like we do.
I wanted to share my news with you all, as I can't keep a secret anymore!!! I'm going to have a baby......................at the moment I am 15 weeks pregnant (oh and two days!!), lol. I know they all count. My due date is 03/08/2010, so August feels like a long way off at the moment but I'm sure it will fly by. I was going to share all of my scan pictures with you but I don't want to bore you. I have had four scan's so far due to some hiccups but at least we get to see how our little peanut is developing. Sorry that's it name at the moment. So I will share the scan pictures from yesterday with you. I hope you can make out what everything is............I'm sure you ladies are all experienced in looking at these.
Now, I don't know if you can see this but peanut is actually looking right at us!!
And here just a normal profile shot!!!
I'd love to know if any of you have people in your family having babies this year. So I will try and keep you all updated on progress. Thank you to all my DT teamies who have sent me some lovely kind words. Take care Nettie.xx

LSS Valentine's Acetate Box

Hello crafty people's, I have to apologise now for the terrible pictures!! My usual light filled place for taking pic's (outside) is out of bounds, due to snow. So I had to resort to the spare room window, not great when there isn't much light from outside. Anyhoo enough of my whinging..............on to this weeks challenge and a cheeky pic from of my naughty cats!
I have used the Love Grows Here set again, as I think it's perfect for Valentine's!! I have made a very simple acetate box, which you can find the tutorial for on Splitcoast Stampers and I have used the really cute cupcake image. I also used the Shabby Houndstooth pink paper on the box.
I have filled the box with some caramel heart shaped chocie's, I just hope my hubby isn't looking as this one's for him! I used my Promarkers to colour in the cupcake and then added some glitter and glossy accents to the image.
Lindsay has lots of new images available, so please pop along and visit her shop. The other DT ladies have been very busy working their valentine's magic so please have a look at their blogs and show them some love. I have a quick picture to share with you of my cat Harmony, whom I found sitting in my kitchen sink the other day. They are good cats and don't generally get up on the kitchen counters, but for some reason took exception on this day, so I had to take a pic!!
Take care and I will speak to you all shortly. Nettie.x

PD Love is in the Air

Hello Doodlers....................the challenge this week over at Polkadoodle's is to use Paper Piecing on your cards, using any Stampie and any CD. I have used our latest CD which is Love and Cherish, this pretty little lady comes as a topper either in black and white or already coloured in. I have used the black and white version and paper pieced the umbrella and dress. For the rest of the image I have coloured in using my Promarkers and some glossy pink accents. Here is a dimensional shot.....
I have also used the gorgeous pink patterned papers from the Love and Cherish CD. Some glittery letters and my own hand-made quilled flowers to embellish. The DT's have come up with some amazing cards, so please go and check out our challenge blog. We had some really pretty entry's for last weeks challenge, I'm always interested in the way people have interpreted each challenge.
Here at the Robins Nest it has been quite a hectic week, with appointments and unexpected appointments but hey we are still here and we managed to survive this week!!!!
Thank you all for your lovely comments and I look forward to seeing you in this week's challenge. Nettie.x

LSS Sorry Sketch Card

This week Lindsay asked us to follow Tuesday Morning Sketch, as she was the sponser for last week's challenge. The weekly challenge's run from Tuesday to Sunday, so the new challenge start's tomorrow. If you like to follow sketches then why not pop on over and see what this week's sketch is.
Lindsay has some more gorgeous set's in her store and here is a new one I have used this week to go with my sketch card. This set is called Pretty Primative and can be found in Lindsay's store right now to purchase. I have used the really cute elephant for my card this week.
I have gone for the slightly distressed look, although I'm not clever at this!! I'm sure there is a better way to do this, but I don't have all of the distress ink's yet. All of my patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye, yummy. Here is a quick dimensional shot........
February is customer appreciation month at MyGrafico, the more you have spent in the past the more you will save this month. For more details please visit this page for more information.
Good luck with your sketches and thank you all for your lovely comments. Nettie.x
