Polkadoodles Sketch

Well, it's been a while since we had a sketch over at Polkadoodles.........................so Jenny has set us the task of following this sketch.
I have gone for a shabby chick look on this one and used the All Around and Everywhere CD, which has some gorgeous papers and flowers on it. I have created an apperture card for this one and made a cute little frame around the window. These colours remind me of sweetie's..............
I have cut out the flowers with my Nestabilities, which are designed perfectly for these flowers. I scrunched them up and then layered them, adding the button embellishments with a bit of white ribbon.
I have added some little pearls around the edge of the frame and a little bit of doodling. I kept it fairly simple but I like that it turned out quite girly. We are still going strong with our Aqua Markers colouring competition, so if you still haven't had chance to pop your entry in our comments section then please take the time to enter. The first prize is to own a full set of Aqua Markers from Letraset. We look forward to visiting your blogs to check out your entries this week. Take care Nettie.xx

Polkadoodle Male/Female Card

Hey peeps, we are back with another Polkadoodles challenge this week and this week Nikky is taking the reins. She has set the team the task of making a card which could be used for both a male or female and all you need to do is use at least two Polkadoodle products.
I think I may have cheated just slightly on this one.....................................as I have made a Wedding Card.
I have used the Love and Cherish CD for this one and stuck with the black and white theme. I have used my border punch from Stampin Up and some Sizzix lettering.
Have you taken part in our massive colouring competition yet???? No, then please check out this week's post as Nikky has another fantastic tutorial on Aqua Markers for you and don't forget that you could be in with a chance of winning a full set of the lovely Aqua Markers. I'm short on time this week, so sorry it's a short post. Can't wait to stop by your blogs this week. Take care Nettie.xx

Polkadoodle Christmas in July

Yes it is still July and yes you did read this right, our theme this week is Christmas in July!! Kris is setting our challenge this week over at Polkadoodles and our theme is Christmas, ho ho ho.
But before I go on to explain my card this week, have you been over to Polkadoodles challenge site??? No, then pop on over there quickly and then come back. Nikky has managed to get Letraset to give us a full set of Aquamarkers to giveaway as first prize. She also has some runner's up prizes also. I wish I had the chance of winning these beauties. To be in with a chance of winning these fantastic markers then pop on over to see what you have to do, to bag yourself some of these. I only wish I was able to enter.
This little make was created when our new CD Paper Boutique 2 was launched. I have as you can see created a side step card for this one. The flowers are from the Poinsetta template and I have printed these flowers onto some of the red papers from the same CD. Once cut out they are so easy to layer up.
The sentiment is also one of many from the CD. I have inked up the edges on both the leaves and the flowers. If you haven't already seen this CD, then it's a must for all your Christmas card makes. You could make batches of several of these different templates and be well prepared for the Christmas season.
Sorry this is a short post from me today, but things are a little busy at the moment...............Take care and I hope to see you joining in our challenge this week. Nettie.xx

Baby Announcement Cards

Well as promised here are the baby announcement cards I have been working on...........................................
This cute little baby and pussycat digi-stamp is from Squigglefly, there are some other images in this collection too. I have coloured these images in using my Promarkers. I couldn't resist this image because as you know I already have two babies, which are my beautiful cats. Not sure how they are going to react to a screaming baby yet............
These are pocket card, with a little tabbed card on the inside. My plan is to pop a picture of baby on the inside piece of card. The dotty papers are from Pink Petticoat, which come in a range of colours but I have used Daffodil and Silver.
The tab is a Stampin Up punch which I have had for a while. I have made 30 of these announcement cards, in preparation for Peanut entering the world. Just have to finish off the Thank you cards now. I hope the sun is still shining for you, where you are. Take care and catch up with me on Friday for a fantastic competition over at Polkadoodles this Friday.xx

Summer Cricket Card

Hello everyone, sorry I have been lacking in the blogging department but I have a bit slow lately. I'm now 38 weeks pregnant, so literally counting down the days till little one is here. Plus the heat is a little hard to take at the moment.
I was asked by my gorgeous cousin to make a card for his dad, who is a big cricket fanatic. I have used George, who is part of a sports pack over at Charmed Cards & Crafts. I have coloured in George using my Promarkers. I wouldn't normally make a gate-fold card, but that's the way I went with this card.
I have kept the card fairly simple, as we all know that men don't like fussy cards. I generated the sentiment on my computer and crumpled it up and then put it in place with a couple of brads. Here is a quick view of the inside, I used my Martha Stewart punch for the fence inside.
Over at Dottie's World the challenge is to make a Summer card and you need to use a Charmed download. Being that cricket is a summer sport I hope this card fits in well with their challenge.
I have been busy making baby announcement cards too, so I will take a picture of them soon and share them with you all. Also this Friday don't forget to check out the Polkadoodles challenge as we are going to be having a major competition that you won't want to miss out on. Take care for now. Nettie.xx

Polkadoodle Fairy Flutterfly

Woohoo I hear you cry, yes it's Friday again and time for another Polkadoodle challenge. Have you seen those cute Fairy Flutterfly's from Polkadoodles? No, then pop on over to the Polkadoodle shop for a quick browse. Lou is setting the challenge this week and she has asked us to use the Fairy Flutterfly stamps to create our card image, background and sentiment.
Isn't she cute!! I stamped Maggie out twice and coloured her using my Promarkers. I then stamped her butterfly wings onto acetate to give them some extra dimension. I have also added some small red gems to the wings.
I stamped the Wish sentiment stamp several times in different colours onto plain paper. Which created my background. The orange spotty paper is from the All Around & Everywhere CD. The little fence at the bottom is my Martha Stewart punch, which I love. Martha Stewart punches can also be found on the Polkadoodle's shop.
I love the toadstools and flowers that also come with this set. So cute...................can't wait to see your creations this week. We will be popping along to your blog's to leave you some Polkadoodle love. Take care Nettie.xx

Polkadoodle's Summer Theme

Do you feel in the mood for Summer?? Well we have been having the weather for summer lately..............Over at Polkadoodles Enfys has set us the challenge of a summer themed card. When I think of summer I think of lots of flowers in bloom and bright skies.
I have used the All Around & Everywhere CD for this one. There is a fab range of flowers to be had on this CD, which are ready to cut and stick. I have used some narrow ribbon for the stems on the flowers and I have fringed the paper to give it a grass look, isssh.
I also cut out one of the sentiments from the CD and cut and a circle on my card, so that I could make the sentiment spin. You can't really see this from the photo, but I promise it does spin.
So come on, what do you think of when you picture summer?? Join in with our challenge this week, we loved to see your cards or projects. Take care Nettie.xx

Polkadoodle Decorative Item

I'm back for another Friday Polkadoodle challenge and this week and the oh so talented Claire has set our theme this week. Which is .........................a Decorative Item.
I decided to make a door hanger for the Baby's room, as we don't know the sex of the baby I have kept it simple.
The paper is from the All Around & Everywhere CD and the cutie owl is from the Back to Nature CD, which can be found on the Polkadoodle webesite. The letter's are cut out with my Sizzix and are from the Love Letter set. Then I have just distressed some of the edges.
I hope you managed to see the Create & Craft show last Sunday, which debued Nikky's new CD. If you didn't then your in luck because she back on our screen's on Wednesday at 9am. So that's the new Creative Christmas Paper Boutique CD. If you want a sneaky peek, then pop on over to the Polkadoodles gallery.
I hope you have all been enjoying this warm weather, me not so much but hey it always make's you feel good when the sun shines. I have been enjoying watching Andy Murray at Wimbledon this year, what I wouldn't give to be there watching. Anyhoo enough rambling, hope to catch up with you all and see what you create for our challenge this week. Take care Nettie.xx

So Proud of You Mum

Some of you may already know that my mum and I volunteer for our local Pilgrims Hospice in Ashford, Kent. Well, last night mum took part in their Moonlight Walk in Ashford. Unfortunately I wasn't able to take part for obvious reasons, but mum did me proud...............................
Mum is the one on the left, complete with pink cowgirl hat!! The walk was a total of 10km and she completed the walk in 2 hours. She has been suffering with an injury but she didn't let that deter her. As you can see from the sign on her back, mum did her walk in aid of my gran Vera who died of cancer.
The walk started at 10.30pm last night, so it was a late one for all involved. The streets of Ashford were lined with a sea of flashing bunning ears as far as the eye could see. They got some amazing support along the way and I can't begin to think of the amount of money each one of these ladies have raised.
As you can see there were lots of flashing bunny ears and general flashing lights!! Myself, my dad and hubby drove around the route, making sure that mum got the support she needed to complete the walk (cruel I know).
I just want to say..................I know your aching now mum but I'm so proud of you for completing the walk and for raising all that money. Love you Nettie.xx

Polkadoodles Boy's Card

Hi everybody, it's Friday again............so you know what that mean's, another Polka Doodles challenge. The lovely Brenda is taking a turn again and she has set us the challenge of doing a Boy's card. This is perfect timing for me as my nephew's birthday is coming up thick and fast. Take a look at this cutie...............
Now we have all been a little bit pre-occupied this week, as Nikky's new CD will launch this weekend on Create and Craft. Nikky will be appearing on your screen's on Sunday 27th June at 2pm, with the new CD called Paper Boutique Creative Christmas. So yes we have all been getting into the Christmas spirit and making samples. There are as usual some fab images on this CD, so you won't be disappointed. Now onto my card..........
I have used the Funky Monkey image for my card this week. As you can guess this fit's with Kieran's personality very well!! I have kept it very simple, but I think that the image is detailed enough. I have also used some leaf print acetate from Papermania, which allowed me to add the back image as well.
I'm not quite sure where the funky foam letters are from, but I found them in my stash. This monkey can be printed off in various different size's to suit you needs, but this one is the A6 size.
A quick view of the inside, so that you can the back image of the monkey. Again please don't forget, if you like Nikky's CD's then please pop the telly on Sunday to catch a glimpse of the new CD at 2pm. Take care and look forward to visiting your blogs. Nettie.xx

Polkadoodle Male/Father's Day Card

It's the ever so creative Dee taking front stage this week over at Polkadoodle's. Dee has set us the challenge to make a Father's Day or Male themed card. My Dad's birthday and Father's Day are very close together, so it was a toss up as to which way I went.
I have used the cool birdie from the Not for Girls CD and the star's papers from the same CD. The black border at the bottom of the front has been made using my trusty Martha Stewart punch. As you can hopefully see this is an easel card.
I'm still playing with my new camera and I still think I need a full blown training course, because I couldn't take a fab picture!! I hope to see you all taking part in our challenge this week, as Father's Day is coming up thick and fast. Take care Nettie.xx

Polkadoodles Nursery Rhyme Card

It's my turn to take the challenge this week over at Polkadoodles. With the birth of my baby drawing ever nearer I thought I would remember the Nursery Rhymes. So if you fancy joining in then get your thinking cap's on and let us know which Nursery Rhyme you have chosen.
So in case you haven't already guessed my Nursery Rhyme is 'Baa Baa Black Sheep'. I have altered Maisie from the Back to Nature CD and turned her into a black polkadoodle sheep, lol. I still love this CD, there is so much you can do with these animals.
So as you can see I have made another Step card, but this one is a bit more technical. It's a side step card, I have used a full A4 sheet of card for this one. The fence, flowers and lettering are also from the Back to Nature CD.
Then I have just added the clouds and sun I made myself to set the scene. Pregnancy update - 32 weeks now and I had my scan on Tuesday, but sadly no pic's. The lady we had doing the scan was in training and wasn't able to get a picture for us. Nevermind baby looked cosy enough and is now head down. This weather although nice has been a little bit much for my chubby ankles. I can't wait to see your Nursery Rhyme cards, take care Nettie.xx

Polkadoodles Modern/Retro Anniversary Card

Hello Doodlers, it's that Friday feeling again..............and time for another challenge. Lou is back in charge this week and challenge, should you choose to accept it is.....................to create an Anniversary Card with a Modern/Retro feel.

I have used the Love and Cherish CD and those Funky hearts. I have made a stair step card to give a bit of dimension and kept it fairly simple.
Sorry I'm keeping this post fairly short as I'm finding the heat a bit too much at the moment. Normally I would it enjoy with the rest, but being 31 weeks pregnant, everything seems to expand!! I really hope to see most of you join in with the challenge and the following week is my turn to take the reins. Take care Nettie.xx

Polkadoodles Sew and Sew

This week over at Polkadoodles Lou has set us the challenge of Sew and Sew, whether it be faux or getting the old sewing machine out.
Sew (ha ha ha) I dusted off my sewing machine...............actually I had to fix it because it wasn't working. But now it's back to it's old self. Ok, ok I did go a bit made with the whole sewing theme but hey I'm happy. It doesn't take much!!
I have added lots of different embellishments from my stash, very pink!! I have used the new CD, All Around and Everywhere because I love this beautiful tree image. I added some clear glaze and glitter to the image to give it some added dimension.
If you haven't already purchased any Poolkadoodles CD's then they are well worth the look. I hope to see you in the challenge this week. Take care Nettie.xx

Something for Mum

Hello everyone, it's Friday again yippee I hear you cry. I hope you have been enjoying some of this hot weather. Taking the lead this week over at Polkadoodles is Fliss. In honour of Fliss' mum she has asked us to make a project with Mum in mind and using the colours Peach/Orange and Blue.
Now my Mum loves to read, she is an out and out Book Worm. So I thought I would make her a pretty Book Mark to find her spot. I have used the gorgeous Maggie from the Fairy Flutterfly collection, which can be found over at the Polkadoodles shop.
The papers are from the new CD All Around & Everywhere and I have used my Martha Stewart punch for a little bit of detail at the bottom of the Book Mark.
Let's see what you can make with your mum in mind. Take care Nettie.x

Happy Birthday Polkadoodles xxx

Yep, that's right. Polkadoodles has been going for a year now. Enfys is leading the pack this week and has set the task of adding Dimension and Texture to our cards.
Now because we are celebrating our first Birthday Nikky has very kindly put a Father themed free download for all of our avid followers. So if you haven't yet got your hands on any of the Polkadoodles CD's then now is your chance to grab some, pop along to the challenge site.
I have used the download for my card this week and the Dad template card from the Paper Boutique CD. You can find the CD on the Polkadoodles store web-site.
I have used my dotty Cuttlebug folder for some texture and layered up the stars and card for some dimension. Now I'm all set for Father's Day when it rolls around. All I have to do now is get some Haribo's for my Dad. Yes my Dad loves them, in fact one year we signed him up for Haribo membership. So easily pleased. Well it's either that or Whiskey!!
We would love it if you come and join us this week...............Take care Nettie.xx

28 Week Peanut Pictures.....

Well, finally as promised here are the 28 week scan pictures that were taken yesterday. Peanuts limbs are measuring two weeks ahead of the 28 weeks, so I'm scared about how big baby is going to be.
It's getting harder to see everything now on the screen, but we did seem to get a great view of Peanuts face throughout the scan. The weeks seem to be flying by now. My only craving is ice cubes....I can't get enough of them. Though at least it's cheap!!! The nursery is almost complete now, just a few minor things to do. I will share some pictures with you all once I'm happy it's finished. Thanks for your lovely comments Nettie.xx

Sk8r Boy

Hello everyone, I decided to enter a few challenges today with a card I made at the weekend. I haven't done this for a while so I thought it was about time.
My eldest nephew Freddie is 6 tomorrow and he absolutely loves to skate. I have used this cute Josh image from Digistamp Boutique for this one. I have used the Happy Birthday embossed folder from my Cuttlebug collection and the letters and stars are from the Sizzix dies. I tried to create a ramp on the front of the card but I'm not sure if it's worked.
I did realise that by accident made the card back to front. I now have to try and explain to Freddie that this is the new style for cards!!
Here are the challenges I am entering this card for:
Digistamp Boutique - Any card using a Digistamp image
DU2DS - Anything goes
Pregnancy update - I will be 28 weeks tomorrow. I have my scan tomorrow, so I will try and share pictures with you all when I have scanned them.
Take care Nettie.xx
