PD - Non Traditional Valentines Week 4

Well, hello peeps. It's another challenge week over at Polkadoodles and we have been challenged to make a Valentine's card with non traditional colours by Kerry. I decided to use my favourite CD................yep you guessed it Back to Nature. I have used the cooler colours blue and green and kept my card fairly simple.

I doodled around the edge of my DL card and I used the Hootin' Trees papers and printed the letters Valentine onto these papers. I then backed each letter with some green card. My ribbon strip is also from the Back to Nature CD and then I finished off with some pearl studs. Here is a lookie at the simple inside.......

Well it's been a fairly quiet week here at the Robins nest, which usually means I get more done but for some reason that hasn't happened this week. Although I have had two visits from my gorgeous nephews, which is always a plus. My brothers son Kieran likes my two cats, but they are not too keen on him.............he likes to chase them. So in order to get them to come near him, he decided to go for the treats......

I think if  there was a caption above the cats, it would read 'quick lets eat these and get out of here!'.
Anyway, thought that might make you giggle. I can't wait to see what Non Traditional Valentine's cards you come up with for this weeks challenge. Toodles Nettie.x

LSS Valentine's Card

Are you feeling in the mood for love? No, well I don't blame you but Valentine's Day is just around the corner. So if you haven't made a start yet, then why not try some digital images or papers. For my card this week I have used two of Lindsay's Stamp Stuff files. One is the cutest set Pretty Princess and the other is some pastel shade papers Shabby Houndstooth, both can be found in Lindsay's store.

I have cut out a heart shaped card, not sure where I got the template from but it was stored amongst my files. I layered the background with some pink paper from Shabby Houndstooth and coloured the frog in with my Promarkers. Add some embellishments and ta-da a Valentines card is born.

And here is the inside just for Karin.................bit simpler this time though. Sorry I was MIA for last weeks post but I was feeling really under the weather. Don't forget to keep an eye on Lindsay's blog as I know she will be giving away yet another freebie soon. This is a good place to start if you haven't got any of Lindsay's Digi-stamps yet. I'm off to go and play as my nephew is coming round shortly and he's bound to keep me busy. Take care Nettie.xx

Polkadoodles Red & Orange Sketch - Week 3

We are kicking off this week a sketch and we have also been set with the task of using the colours Red & Orange over at Polkadoodles. We've had some really fantastic entries for last week's challenge, which was the theme of LOVE. I decided to make my card for my nephews birthday this month, I'm sure he will like the bright colours.......................

I have used the Not For Girls cd at Polkadoodles. This is a two CD set and covers male hobbies, whilst covering other funky stuff. I love these cool looking birds, I coloured this one in with my Promarkers. Just to let you know that Nikky is also stocking Promarkers now over at Polkadoodles. Here is a pic of the inside as you know I don't like to leave that out............

Don't forget you can interpret the sketch as you wish. You may want to flip it or turn it around??
I'm off to go and claim my seat back as my cat Melody is hogging my space at the moment. Although at least she's warming it up!! Take care and see you all in the challenge. Nettie.x

PD - Wedding Cake Box

This week's PolkaDoodle Challenge is........................L.O.V.E............LOVE. If you didn't catch the Create and Craft Channel at the weekend, then please check out the PolkaDoodles website to view the new CD Love and Cherish. If you did miss the first show then catch it again on Monday 25th January at 3pm.
Now onto my make of the week..........................a Wedding Cake Box....

I have used the patterned papers from the Elegance collection on the CD. The Cake Box is one of the templates on the Love and Cherish CD. All you have to do is print it out and stick it together. Simples....

I added a little shaped edging around the edges, but it really was simply to put together. The flowers again are one of many stacking flower templates, that I printed onto some of the elegance papers. Then I just topped off with my usual bling.

So go ahead and join in on the fun at Polkadoodles. Take care Nettie.x

LSS You've Got Mail!!

It's Monday................and today I have used Lindsay's so so cute Mailbox template. This box comes in SVG, printable and PNG format. So here is my version................I have used the lip on the mailbox door front as I wanted to fasten with some string.

This template is so easy to use. If you haven't got a fab cricut machine then use the printable template, just print, cut out and stick together. There are only three parts to the whole template and decorate to your hearts desire. As you can see I was feeling pink.................Want another picture.....here you go..

Now, you might think that my makes would stop there but you'd be wrong...............well this time anyway. I went on to make some simple stationery to go with this template. I used Lindsay's Love Grows Here images and placed them in word to produce some simple letter pages and envelopes.

As you can see I have added a little pink to match the theme of my box...........

So why not have a stab at your own stationery or little notelets and envelopes. Please pop along to the other DT members blogs to see what they have been up to this week. Catch you all later. Nettie.xx

Polkadoodles Song Title Card - Week 1

Well, it's the start of a new year and the start of a new challenge over at PolkaDoodles. Yep, we are kicking off Week 1 with a Song Title card. I have used the Back to Nature CD, I honestly just love this CD. There is so much to explore. I have used the gorgeous cat for my 'What's new Pussycat' titled card by the good old Tom Jones!!!
I do have to apologise for my horrific pictures but my card is made using clear acetate and the light was really poor when I took the picture. I know any excuse ehh...............

I have used the Candy papers from the CD and kept with the style of circles. The alphabet circles have even come from the CD rom. I have added some glossy accents to the card and a few bead & bows.
Nikky will be launching the new CD this weekend so please keep your eye out on the craft channel on Sunday. She has been working hard all Christmas to get the CD ready, but I can assure you it is worth it.
So get your Polkadoodles fingers out and take part in our first challenge of the year.......Take care Nettie.x

LSS Recycled Anniversary Card

Happy Happy New Year everybody, have you stuck to your New Years Resolutions so far???? I have to admit that I didn't make any, I know I'm a cheat. So I'm back, it's been a while..............lets see if I can remember how this goes.....................

Well here are some lovely new digi stamps from Lindsays Stamp Stuff. The set is titled 'Love Grows Here'. I have used the two kissing birds for my anniversary card and paper pieced the birds with patterned paper.
Lindsay is having a Recycling Challenge for her readers over at her blog:
Make a card using a digital stamp (any brand, a coloring page or font is fine) and use something recycled. Lindsay will randomly chose a name from all who enter to win a stamp set of their choice from Lindsay's stamp stuff. The deadline is midnight Jan 7th. Entrants need to leave a link to their card in the comment section of her blog. Lindsay will pick a winner on the 8th.
So for my recycled item I  have used a Christmas card.............

I did trash this card as much as I could and then decided to use the bows, ribbon and heart charm. Here is the card I turned into an Anniversary card..................

I have used papers from my stash, sorry they are so old that I couldn't even begin to know where they are from, LOL. And the inside.............

So if you want to be in with a chance of winning one of Lindsay's stamp sets, then pop on over to Lindsays blog. Also please pop over to the other DT member blogs, please also welcome Tanya to the team.
So get recycling.....................and I will be back soon. Nettie.xx
