Quicky Christmas Cards LSS

Well I should really be laughing right now, but I'm not. This post should really be called Lastminute.com, because I ran into some hiccups today and it's all my own fault. I didn't plan ahead on this one and that's why I have gotten into a pickle. If it wasn't the computer failing, then it was the photo software, if it wasn't that then it was blogger not letting me in........................
Hey hum I'm here now and I will show you my makes for this weeks Lindsay's Stamp Stuff DT makes. Now Lindsay asked us teamies to produce some quicky Christmas makes using any of her Digi's. Because I am doing last minute, I did manage to use Lindsay's new set called 'Winter Printables' you can also click on the picture to take you to this set in My Grafico.
So using this gorgeous set I have made four quick cards for Christmas and the bonus was that in this set Lindsay has provided you with printable cards, fantastic!! They only took about five or ten minutes to make, perfect if you have a lot to make and in a short space of time.
This card below is a spinner card, using the circle sentiment from the set and some thin silver thread you can easily tape your circle to your card to give a simple trick.
I have used the sentiment circles for all of my cards to use a feature, but they can also be used with pictures or more LSS Digi images if you would like. Lindsay also has some freebie's in her shop, which can be found here. They are a gingerbread person?? and a Christmas Tree, the SVG files are also attached in this freebie. For more information or helpful tips then please visit Lindsay's blog.
Top Tip:
If you don't have a lot of time for cards why not print a Digi-stamp onto some patterned paper (either from your stash or from your computer). That way all you have to do is cut out your digi.
That's it from me (bodge it!!), please take a look at my team members blogs on the sidebar.

LSS Flower Pot Card

As you will see from my pictures today, it's a bit soggy here at the moment. Long gone is Summer..............
Well on to my DT make for this week with help from Lindsay's gorgeous Doodle Flowers Digital Set, click on this link to purchase your own set of these digi's. I thought I would use these stamps to my take on the Flower Pot Card.....................

I have layered a couple of the flowers from the collection by colouring them with my Promarkers and decoupaging them. I also used both of the sentiments in the collection for this card. You can see a close up of them here...........................

This card opens up brilliantly to reveal your sentiment and greeting.

Sorry I have overloaded you with pictures today, but I like lots of angels to look at.
Remember if you would like to purchase your own set of Doodle Flower Digi's please click on the link. Also if you like tutorials and you would like to make your own Flower pot then please follow this link to Splitcoast Stampers. That's it from me folks, dont forget to check out the other DT's blogs. Christmas Colour Create Card

This is a first for me, I haven't taken part in a Colour Create Challenge yet but I was really inspired by the above picture and we are getting seriously close to the 'C' word. As you can see this weeks challenge was to create a card or project using the above picture as inspiration and colours Red, White and Green.

So here is my version of the candy cane................I have used a Pollycraft design from the Cherry Kisses collection, which you can find here. I have glammed her up with my usual bling and sparkle and coloured her in using my favourite Promarkers. I really enjoyed experimenting with the ribbon on this one, I love the effect.

Here is the inside of my card. I have tried to make the left hand side look like a wrapped gift and leaving a small space on the right for a personal message. Here is a close up shot of the cute little elf............

Recipe:
Card Stock; Do Crafts Goody Bag & Papermania
Paper; Christmas DCWV Stack
Ribbon; From my mum's stash
Gems; Poundland & Kars
Image; Pollycraft
Embellishments; Free with Card Magazine & Forever Friends Decoupage Noel
Tools; Fiskars Shapecutter, Fiskars Trimmer, Glue, Promarkers
My mum has caught the papercrafting bug and I have finally convinced her to start her own blog, so that she can archive her makes. She will be posting her first post today, so please pop along and leave her a smilie comment, Sugar Candy Mandy.
Thank you all for your lovely comments lately, I have been really bowled over. SIMON & BETTY IF YOU ARE READING THIS THEN PLEASE LEAVE ME A COMMENT!!

A Tale of Two Cats..................

I meant to share these pictures with you a while back, but it completely slipped my mind. If you haven't guessed by now from my blog, I am a cat lover. I have two British Blue Shorthaireds called; Harmony & Melody (sisters). I will tell you the story of how they came to live with us.................Chris and I wanted to home an older cat and Chris had previously had a British Blue (so this type of cat would have been our ideal but they were out of our price range).
We went to our local RSPCA Cat Rehoming centre to find ourselves a loveable cat. As soon as we walked in our eyes saw these two beautiful BB cats, who had been dumped in a wicker basket with no cover in the winter and they were only 8 months old. We were devastated to find out they had already been reserved with another family, but the assistant advised us to put our names down on the reservation list just in case the other family fell through (which we of course did). She said it was highly unlikely that this would happen though. We continued to look at the other cats in the centre but didn't take to any of them and didn't want to home a kitten, so we left without a cat. A few days later we had a call to say that the original family had fallen through and would we still like to give the cats a home. Of course we said yes and arrived on the RSPCA's doorstep in minutes. It took about 6 months for them to settle in but they are now happy in their new home and they have been living with us for 3 years (I hope I haven't bored you by now).

We purchased two lampshades the other day, which you guessed it................came in these boxes. Lets just say that it only took a few minutes for the above picture to happen.

Harmony..........................

Melody.....................................

Why is it they always want to sleep in the things we want to through away?? I will leave it at that.

LSS Christmas Placecards

Yeah, this is my first DT post for Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, so please be gentle with me! I'm so grateful to Lindsay for chosing me to be a part of her team. Well for my first make I have used the 'Christmas Cupcake Wrapper Set', but I have done my own take on these images...............just click on the link to purchase your own LSS Digital images. Please also check out Lindsay's own blog, where you will find some fab freebies.

I have used the Cupcake Wrapper to make some Christmas Name Placecards. I have used all of the five different images for our Christmas table.............but I do have another five to make for our large family. My mum is cooking Christmas dinner on Boxing Day this year and her colour scheme is Black & Silver, so these little makes will be winging their way to my mum shortly.

I altered the PNG files in Adobe Photoshop to a Black background and also changed the round images to insert my family names. Once they were printed out onto White card, I then filled in parts of the white images with a Silver Marker pen.

There were lots of circles to these makes.........I cut a zigzag silver card edge around the Cupcake Wrappers to give them some bling. Then I used some Kebab wooden sticks and coloured them with my black marker pen. I matt and layered the name circles and again edged them with silver card and my zigzag scissors. A bit of RicRac Silver ribbon and done!!
Why not give them a go for your Christmas table or maybe you want to use them for their intended purpose.............Cupcake Wrappers. For more information please visit Lindsay's Store to check out her digital images.
Take care and please feel free to ask any questions. Toodles Nettie.xx

Pretty...................................In Purple

Here is my Purple card for the monthly Lily-Boo Too Challenge, which I used one of the Girls from 'Here Come the Girls' Collection. I have been trying to post this blog for two days now, but life has got in the way so I thought I had better take a few minutes to post this. I don't know about you but I'm finding it hard to take my pictures before the light goes, now that the clocks have changed.
This month's challenge was to use the colour........................PURPLE, although I have slipped some white and skin tones into this one. This card is a gate fold creation with a few touches of bling, because every girl needs a bit of sparkle. Sorry for the lack of pictures but as I said I have been having problems with getting good picture........I know any excuse huh!!!
Card Step by Step
  1. Create a gatefold card (using Purple Papermania 12x12 card & Fiskars Trimmer)
  2. Using Purple gingham paper I stuck some to the front (paper from my stash)
  3. Cut my pre-coloured image into an Oval (using Fiskars Shape Cutter)
  4. Matt & layer image, using edging scissors & different card stock (I used different card stock & Fiskars edging scissors to matt & layer my image)
  5. Cut three lengths of card stock & punched them (using Stampin Up Eyelet Border)
  6. I then layer these punched lengths (Purple, White, Purple) and stuck and tied a length of white ribbon to them and then stuck them down to only the left handside of the card, due to opening in the middle
  7. I then stuck my matted & layered image to the left handside of the card
  8. Next I used various embellishments, which I had altered to different shades of Purple and stuck them on the right handside of my card front around the arch of my oval image (chipboard circles, white stick on gems, sparkly gems from Poundland, paper roses from The Range)
  9. Lastly I used sparkly silver letters & corners to finish off the card and then I mounted the letters onto Purple & White card & rounded the corners (Silver letters & corners from Anita's range)
I have rambled on for long enough now. Thank you for all your kind comments lately, they are much appreciated. Take care. Nettie.xx

Spooky Halloween Makes

This is a digistamp set that I got from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff a talented lady who has a multitued of Digistamps. Lindsay has her own shop over at My Grafico. I ended up producing three items with this set and I didn't even use all of the items. My first make was a Halloween invitation card using four of the images in this set.

The paper is from my stash, not sure where from sorry. I used my ProMarker pens to colour in these digistamps. I have used acetate to give the ghost on the front and spider on the inside some dimension. This was really fun to colour.

I then decided to make a luminary using some plain vellum I had stashed in my drawer. I printed the row of pumkins on the vellum first of all and I was really pleased with the way they turned out. I got the template for this luminary at Mel Stampz please go and have a look it's worth it. I cut the ovals out using my Fiskars shape cutter and then blinged up with some black gems.

For my final make.....................it's a Halloween door hanger. I always think that our front doors are not so approachable when it comes to Halloween compared with the US, so I hung this door hanger on my front door to let trick or treaters know that I would welcome them. I used the witch from the digistamp set and my Easy Peasy letters from Sizzix.

I hope you like my makes and please pop over to Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. Also if you want to know more about using Digistamps then My Grafico has some great information from some really talented people. Sorry for the long post. Take care and I will pop back soon. Nettie.xx
