Charmed Cards & Crafts Colour our World Competition

This is my double entry for the Charmed Cards & Crafts 'Colour our World' Competition. This image is from Charmed Cards & Crafts 'Dottie & George Back 2 Front'. I love this collection of digital images as there are endless possibilities in using them. I have used acetate for the base of my card, although I could have done with thicker acetate as it doesn't stand to well but hey hum it will do. I have stamped the acetate with a swirl stamp using black Staz On ink. I have attached a blue ribbon at the side of the card and embellished with punched flowers. I hope you can view the details fine, I found it a bit tricky photographing this one.
If you want to check out the competition or Karen's blog from Charmed Cards & Crafts then please click here to have a nosey. There are also other competitions on the go and some fabby prizes to be one.
Our friends Steve and Raine have just got engaged so this card will be winging it's way to them shortly. Congrats guys, we couldn't be happier for you...............I will see if I can pop back later, but please leave me a comment if you happen to stop by....Love n hugs Nettie.x

Get Well Soon Mum

It's been a weird day today, although I did manage a little crafting my heart wasn't in it.
My mum started to feel unwell on Sunday when we were doing the boot fair and I was a little concerned. A few days on and she's not feeling great at all. Turns out that she has been unlucky and caught the dreaded Swine Flu!! So she has put in her order for the medication so hopefully that should start to take effect shortly and she will start feeling better...................So get well soon mum.
The downside is that due to my recent large op I'm at risk so I'm not allowed near mum until she is all clear. Never mind we shall have to make up for it by talking lots on the telephone...............I will post my makes for today on tomorrows post as the camera is charging. Thanks Nettie.x

Passion for ProMarkers Challenge Week 9

Well I'm just scrapping in with this one, so I'm not doing well with being organised.....Over on Passion for ProMarkers we are on week 9 of the challenge. This weeks challenge was to use the colours Lime Green and Rose Pink.
I have used this lovely bear image from Scrapbookingmad, I have tried to keep mainly to the two colours and I hope my colouring is getting better week by week. The papers and the letters are all free downloads from Cardmaking & Papercraft. I have then used handmade quilled flowers and a lime green flower from Papermania and a few sparkly gems.............

My husband has just been laughing at me because I managed to loose the 'e' of the bear word in my desk organiser and I could not get it out................I ended up fishing it out with two paintbrushes pinched together. Then I didn't learn my lesson from before and my box of quilled flowers suddenly flew all over the floor and I had to sit on the floor and pick each one up individually.................So I need to start putting the lids back on when I have finished with things.......Why is it that everything goes wrong when you rush things! See you again soon Nettie.xx

Up with the Birds..............

Well, as promised I'm back but with no makes for today. We were up with the birds this morning for our planned boot fair. I have to say I'm not the best for getting up extra early, so it did come as a shock to the system but after a bit of coffee and some 'hurry up's!' from hubby I was there....We didn't do too badly today so we have a little stash for our family hols in a few weeks time.
I now have my Stampin Up goodies that I ordered, so I must play with those tomorrow and I pinched some of mum's stamps to play with so hopefully I will manage to come up with something tomorrow for you to gaze at.
Thanks for your comments girlie's, your all too kind. I'm in the middle of drawing my own images so you never know maybe one day I will share them with you........
Take care and sticking to my new regime I will be back as Arnie says....................Toodles Netite.x

Bad Blogger

I have to apologise because I have been a really bad blogger . I can't really give a valid excuse because there isn't one, I suppose other things have just got in the way. Although on Thursday I did have a lovely day at the beach with my nephews. I didn't realise until yesterday that not only did I manage to burn my chest but also the top of my head!!! Ouch, when you run the brush through your hair, man that hurts.........I thought I was pretty covered up............just goes to show your never fully protected from the sun!
Well it's another nephews birthday and I have to say sorry Kieran but I made this in a hurry, so I'm sure I could have done a lot better as the saying goes......................He is now 2 years old so I thought I would stick with a fun image. This one's from Dustin Pike, I just love his images, what a talented man. Yes in case you are wondering we only have boys in the family so I have plenty of nephews................so that's why I like the images for boys. I have coloured in the image using my ProMarkers.
Background paper from DCWV Christmas Stack, Image from Dustin Pike, Embellishments by Papermania and Woodware
So although this is a simple card from me, I hope that you like it.....................So starting from today I am going to try and be a better blogger. Anyway I'm going to sign off now as Chris and I are off to do a boot fair early tomorrow morning, so I will have to get my matchsticks ready. I will try and pop back tomorrow. Take care Nettie Noodles.............xxxx
P.S. Please feel free to leave me a comment

Doodles Book

I was looking in my stash the other day to find a blank notebook to doodle in, but I could only find lined note pads. So on that note I decided to do as I normally do and make my own and this is the finished version................I am lucky enough that my husband bought me a Bind It All machine as one of my Christmas gifts, to name but a few........So I used the 3/8'' width silver wire's and some pre-cut 6'' x 6'' white sheets to create my very own, very pink doodle book. The papers are from Dovecraft, the flowers are from various peel off's that I had coloured in yonks ago, including the butterfly. I think I went a bid mad with the embellishments but I thought seen as it is going to be an artistic booklet then hey just keep sticking and gluing.
Right now I'm off to do a bit of random colouring as I managed to print off some of my digital images today...................Happy Crafting......Nettie.xx

Busy Busy Busy

It's been a fairly busy weekend, but enjoyable. We spent the evening with my nephews last night, which is always fun and tiring, they ended the evening with ice-cream covering their mouths and barely being able to keep their eyes open...................Today my sister popped over so that I could do her falsie UV nails for her, which actually took longer than expected, but I think she was pleased by the time she left.................So with all of this I have only managed to make the one card...................for my nephew Michael. He's a sports fan so I thought this image from Charmedcards and Crafts would be great. The background paper is actually wrapping paper from Asda, but I thought it went well with the theme of the card. The birthday text is from the Happy Birthday embossing folder by Cuttlebug and I have rubbed my black ink over the top. The happy has been cut out with Easy Peasy Sissix Alphabet strip. And now as ever some of the finer details......................Ta ta for now. Nettie.xx

Chilling at Mum's

Hello all. I just want to say a big thank you to Loopylou and Saskia for becoming my followers. My blog hasn't been up and running for long and I was hoping to get my followers up eventually, so big hugs to all of you that have visited. If you happen to pass by my blog then please, please leave me a comment so that I can come and visit you....
I have had a chilling day today and I'm now at my mum's house cutting out decoupage images.......... Whilst the men play lego Indiana Jones on the Wii. It's become a ritual when we visit in the evenings, which is quite handy because it leaves me and mum free to do more crafting......Anyhoo I will leave it there for today.......I must go and make a card for my Nephew Michael as it's his birthday in a couple of days.........and many more to come......Thanks for stopping by......Toodles Nettie.x

ProMarkers Weekly Challenge Week 8

Ruby and Gold theme for week 8, with the added twist of jewels and gems!

I thought I would get my entry in earlier this week, as I always feel I'm rushing to meet the next deadline. Over on Passion for ProMarkers this weeks challenge is to use the colours Ruby and Gold, with the added twist of gems and jewels. I have used another Lily-Boo digistamp this week, as I'm really loving the images. I have enjoyed the bright colours this week, I used dark red checked paper and Christmas paper from DCWV. The bright yellow foam letters are from Papermania. Here are a few close up shots, for those of you who like the detail.

Whilst I'm on the subject of Lily-boo images, they are looking for a new DT for a six month term. Anyway catch you later. Nettie.x

Stampin Up Evening

Cute bright yellow memo pad, made using the Stampin Up Tart & Tangy set

This card was made using the spotlighting technique, with Stampin Up products.......
Well, as promised here are the two makes from yesterday evenings Stampin Up party. The wonderful Sarah came to us last night, to show us the fantastic products from Stampin Up. We all had a really enjoyable time, we did some crafting, gossiped, laughed and ate cake!! Oh and of course spent some money......ok ok a lot of money.
I really love the way all of the products work so well together and I particularly love the punches. Sometimes they can be really hard to use, especially if you have a problem with your hands but these punches take the effort out of it.
I'm definitely looking forward to more workshops with Sarah, if you live in the Kent area and are interested in attending crafting workshops, then please check out Sarah's blog to view her up and coming workshops.
I will leave it there for tonight and I will try and pop back tomorrow. Toodles Nettie.x

ProMarkers Weekly Challenge Week 7

Here is my late edition to the Passion for ProMarkers Weekly Challenge Week 7. This weeks challenge was to use the colours Cornflower Blue and Cocoa, but there was also an additional twist to this weeks challenge. The cards need to follow the below sketch.........
I used images from Lily-Boo's Boutique to colour using my ProMarkers. I did find using the sketch for my layout helped take alot of the thought out of my card. I dusted off my sewing machine for this one. I don't think it's been used for some time!! I'm fairly happy with the end result......
Also just wanted to say a big thank you to Sarah for a fantastic Stampin Up! evening...... we really enjoyed ourselves. I will try and upload pictures of our makes tomorrow. Can't wait till we meet again and to receive my new Stampin Up goodies.
Must go now, as my eye lids are getting heavy.............. Nettie.x

Fairy Pink

Just a quickie post from me...................I'm off out in a mo. I made this fairy pink card using Ava the fairy from In Style Stamps as my main image. I coloured her three times using my Promarkers and made her into a decoupage image. The flowers are from Papermania. Anyway gotta go. Speak soon Nettie.x

The Blues

Hello again. Yesterday was a bit of a strange day, but I did manage to complete two cards. Both of my cards following the colour scheme of 'Blues'. I started my day but going to see my beautiful nephew Freddie at his very first sports day. They all looked so adorable in their hand painted t-shirts, with their own names on. He came first in most of his races and I couldn't have been more proud. Take a look at these piccies.....

They all look like little ducklings in this picture. Don't their t-shirts look fantastic, my sister is going to frame Freddie's with all his first place stickers!
Anyway, moving on to the rest of my strange day. My mum and I were meant to be spending the afternoon with our good friend Jenny doing some crafting but unfortunately Jenny had some computer problems so she spent most of her afternoon in Comet trying to sort it out.
I did mange to complete one card, which I got the idea from on Splitcoast Stampers. I didn't follow their tutorial because I couldn't get my mum's Internet to work. So we guessed the measurements and this is the result.....
I used the Daisy & Dandelion Christmas collection papers for this one and the sparkly dots are from Papermania, but I'm sorry I'm not sure where the flower embellishments are from.
My second make which was made the night before, is for my dear friend and colleague Paul. I haven't seen Paul in a while due to my health and we have been sending cards back and forth to communicate. I wanted to make him a card but I wanted to have enough space to write in it, so this was the result....... I hope he likes it. P.S. He's a big football fan......
As you can see from this picture, I should now have enough space to write a good letter to Paul. I used the Onion die cut Decoupage set from Do Crafts. I attached the decoupage image to a cut out circle and then attached this to the belly band. I then just stuck the words 'Hello' to the front at the bottom, these were from Papermania.
I'm off to complete my fairy card now ..................................................................... Toodles Nettie.x

Do Crafts Goody Bag

Cute little Robin stamp from Do Crafts
Again this inside to colour co-ordinate!

I have spent the afternoon at my mum's today (also a keen card maker), hi mum!! She recently bought the latest Do Crafts Goody bag, which has lots gorgeous bits for Christmas. I know it's several months away but hey it pays to be organised. I love the Robin stamp, but then I would because my surname is Robins. I cut my card on the diagonal at the front and placed my Robin inside a cut away circle and then embellished with die cut sentiments. The papers are from the Daisy and Dandelion Christmas paper collection. Sorry about the pics but it's always more difficult taking the pictures in the evening due to the light. Anyway happy crafting till next time. Toodles Nettie.x

Clare Curds Weekly Challenge

Over on Do Crafts Clare Curds Weekly Challenge this week was to produce to two cards using exactly the same materials. Here I have taken a picture of the materials have used for both cards, I have used the Forever Friends cake die cut decoupage as the main image.

For the first card I placed the image inside a die cut oval and placed this above the fold of the card. I embellished with the Forever Friends peel offs and Papermania pink buttons.

For my second card I used a different die cut shape and patterned paper. I'm sure I could have produce a lot more cards with the same materials but I thought I had better stick to the terms of the challenge.
I would love to hear you thoughts. Toodles Nettie.x

Passion for ProMarkers Weekly Challenge Week 6

Cutie Back 2 Front Dottie

I left the sentiment inside blank for this one, I will decide later

Sorry but it's been a few days since I last posted, time has just run away with me. Any who this is my first entry for the Passion for ProMarkers weekly challenge.
This weeks challenge was to create a card using the colours Moss & Poppy but also adding something tasty. For this card I have used a digistamp from Charmed Cards & Crafts she is called Dottie and it is from the Back 2 Front collection. I have made her spin using clear thread so that the front and the back can be seen. For my something tasty I added a cupcake stamped image from Papermania.
I'm loving the colours and the fab creations over on Passion for ProMarkers!
Thanks for stopping by, toodles Nettie.x
